ABOUT DBC CLUB FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Supporting Young People Since 1952

DBC Club for Young People is a charity-based youth activity club in Dosthill, Tamworth. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to providing young people with a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where they can have fun, make friends, learn new skills, and grow in confidence.

Today, we welcome more than 100 young people through our doors each week across a range of club nights and activities, continuing a proud tradition of supporting local families for generations.

Youth-Lead Activities

At DBC, our young people are at the heart of everything we do. We run club nights three times a week for children and young people aged 8-18 (school years 4-13), with activities shaped by their interests, ideas, and requests.

Whether it’s sports, team games, creative activities, challenges, or simply spending time with friends, we aim to create opportunities that are fun, inclusive, and meaningful. Our volunteers actively participate alongside members, helping to build positive relationships and ensuring everyone feels involved. Sometimes that means leading a large group game, while other times it means sitting down for one-to-one board game or conversation.

Our goal is simple: to help young people build confidence, stay active, develop new skills, and create lasting friendships.

Volunteer-Lead Team

As a charity, DBC Club for Young People is powered by an incredible team of volunteers. Many of our volunteers first joined the club as young members themselves before returning to give back to the next generation.

This strong connection between past and present members helps create a unique, welcoming and supportive atmosphere where our young people feel valued and understood.

Developing Future Leaders

We are passionate about helping young people develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Our Young Helper Programme provides opportunities for young people to gain practical experience, develop leadership skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

The programme also supports participants completing the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and helps young volunteers gain valuable experience that can be transferred into future education, employment, and career opportunities.
