Fundraising is at the heart of everything we do here at DBC Club  for Young People. As a charity supporting young people in Dosthill and Tamworth, community support is essential to us. Every activity we run, every game we organise, and every safe, welcoming space we create is made possible through the generosity of those around us.

 

Why Fundraising Matters

As a community charity, we do not operate for profit. Our focus is entirely on creating positive experiences, building confidence, and providing opportunities for young people to socialise, learn new skills, and grow in a safe environment. Fundraising allows us to:

• Improve our club nights with better equipment and activities

• Provide exciting games and themed events

• Host community events and activity days

• Keep our sessions affordable and accessible

• Continue expanding and developing what we offer

 

Every pound raised goes directly back into supporting the children and young people who attend our club.

 

Supporting Us Doesn't Have to Mean Spending Money

When people think of fundraising, they often think of large monetary donations. While financial support is always appreciated, there are other meaningful, and often low-cost or no-cost ways to support us.

 

Here are some of the ways you can help:

 

Donations

We are always grateful for donations in all forms, not just money.

Throughout the year, we host multiple fundraising events and raffles. To make these a success, we rely on prize donations from individuals, families, and local businesses. Some of the wonderful prizes we typically receive include:

• Gift cards to local businesses

• Attraction tickets

• Gift sets

• Toy hampers

• Food vouchers

• Memberships

• Alcohol (for adult raffles)

 

These prizes help us raise valuable funds while also creating exciting opportunities for our supporters to win something special.

 

Monetary donations are also hugely appreciated. These allow us to purchase essential equipment, improve resources, upgrade activities, and continue enhancing our club nights for the children.

 

Volunteering

One of the biggest and most impactful ways to support our club is by volunteering.

 

Our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation. Without them, we simply would not be able to run our sessions or events. They help create a fun, welcoming atmosphere and play a key role in supporting our members.

 

Whether you can offer:

• A few hours per week

• A few hours per month

• Event support only

• Activity day help

 

Volunteers assist with:

• Running games and activities

• Supervising club nights

• Supporting events and fun days

• Helping with set up and pack down

Attending Our Events

We run several events throughout the year, including festivals, fun days, themed evenings, and community gatherings.

 

These events are not only fantastic opportunities for families to come together and enjoy themselves, they are also vital fundraising opportunities for the club. Ticket sales, refreshments, raffles and general donations on the day all help us continue our work.

 

By simply attending and bringing along friends or family, you are directly supporting our mission.

 

Raffles

Our raffles are a major part of our fundraising efforts.

 

You can support our raffles by:

• Purchasing tickets

• Donating prizes

• Sharing raffle posts online

• Encouraging friends and family to get involved

 

The prizes we receive, from vouchers and gift cards to hampers and attraction tickets, help make our raffles exciting and successful. Even sharing a raffle post can help us reach new supporters.

Amazon Wish List

We recently created an Amazon Wish List to make supporting us even easier.

 

Instead of giving a monetary donation, you can choose to purchase a specific item that we need. This includes:

• Drinks and refreshments

• Stationery supplies for volunteers

• Games and activity equipment

• Craft materials

Sharing and Spreading the Word

One of the simplest, yet most powerful ways to support us is by sharing what we do.
