CLUB NIGHTS
Our club nights operate on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, each being aimed at a different group of young people.
Our Monday club nights are for Junior Girls, which is ages 8-11 years old, or school years 4-6. This club runs from 7-9pm every Monday, except bank holidays and during school holidays.
Our Wednesday club nights are for Junior Boys, which is ages 8-11 years old, or school years 4-6. This club runs from 7-9pm every Wednesday, except during school holidays.
Our Thursday club nights are for our Seniors, which is mixed gender, and for ages 11-18 years old, or school years 7-13. This club runs from 7.30-9.30pm every Thursday, except during school holidays.
We aim to help our young people gain confidence, make new friends, learn new skills, develop new interests, and have fun. A range of our activities require collaboration and team work, which is a great way to gain confidence and connect with others. Many of the children that join our club nights are often very shy, and don't know many others on their club night, throughout their time at the club, they gain much more confidence and make long-lasting friendships with others. Junior club nights are particularly good for building those friendships before moving onto secondary school, as quite often the children go to secondary school with a few familiar faces, that they recognise from their club nights. We aim to provide a fun, inviting, safe space for children to come and enjoy their time with friends, whilst remaining active and within a supportive environment.
During our club nights, we provide a variety of activities and sports for our young people. Each week we set up a minimum of one group activity for the children to participate in, giving them the opportunity to work in teams, and collaborate with others, providing a great way for them to make new friends and meet others! The group activity can be sports such as dodgeball, basketball, assault courses, or games such as team challenges, splat, and many more. We have a range of sports equipment the children can use throughout the club night, including footballs, hula hoops, badminton sets, soft archery, and more.
Following our one group activity, the rest of the club night is very flexible. We often have further group activities that the children can get involved in, such as bingo, quizzes, decorating cakes and cookies, crafts, karaoke, dancing, and more. As well as the activities that we set up, we also have a range of games, activities and equipment for the children to use, this includes a pool table, air hockey table, interactive board games, interactive screens, arcade games, arts and crafts supplies, and more. Our senior club nights are typically more flexible, with less structure to the night, allowing the children to decide their activities and games. See here for more about our sports and activities. As well as our games and activities, the children also have access to our canteen, where we sell drinks and snacks.
Our club nights operate every week throughout the year, except during school holidays and on bank holidays, where we are closed. Throughout the year there are various events that the children can get involved in, such as Halloween Discos, Christmas Show, Activity Days, and trips. Every year we have an activity day for the children, where we have a outdoor activity centre visit us and set up activities on our field, or we visit them, and use their facilities. These activity days can include activities such as rock climbing, archery, fire lighting, kayaking, den building, and more. As well as our activity days, we also arrange several trips for the children including bowling, trampoline parks, watching ice hockey, and more.
