Become a Volunteer at DBC Club for Young People
Volunteering at DBC Club for Young People is a fantastic opportunity to support local children and young people while developing your own skills, gaining valuable experience and becoming part of a friendly, dedicated team.
Whether you can spare one evening a week or want to become more involved in our charity, we’d love to hear from you!

Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. You don’t need to have previous experience working with children or young people, just enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to get involved.
Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, including:
Students looking to gain experience
Parents and grandparents wanting to give back to the community
People in full-time or part-time employment
Retired individuals with time to share
Young people aged 15-18 who volunteer as Young Helpers.
Anyone looking to meet new people while making a real difference.
If you’re friendly, approachable and passionate about helping young people thrive, you could be a great addition to our team.
What Do Our Volunteers Do?
Here at DBC Club for Young People, no two club nights are the same, which is one of the fun things that makes volunteering so enjoyable. Our volunteers help create a safe, welcoming and fun environment by:
Welcoming members as they arrive
Supervising activities and ensuring everyone is included.
Joining in with games, sports and creative activities.
Supporting young members who may need encouragement.
Helping with arts and crafts, competitions, and themed events.
Assisting on trips and activity days
Preparing and tidying away equipment
Working with other volunteers to ensure sessions run smoothly
You don’t need to be an expert at any activity, simply being willing to chat, encourage and support young people can have a huge impact.
Making a Difference
DBC Club for Young People is about so much more than providing entertainment. Every conversation, game and activity helps young people build confidence, make friends, learn new skills and feel part of their community.
As a volunteer, you’ll be helping to provide a safe space where young people can relax, have fun and develop into confident, resilient individuals.
The relationships volunteers build with our members can leave a lasting positive impact, and that’s something truly rewarding.
Training and Qualifications
We believe our volunteers deserve the very best support, which is why we provide training opportunities to help you feel confident in your role.
Some of the training opportunities we offer include:
Mental Health First Aid
Safeguarding
Fire Marshall
First Aid
Youth Work
Leadership
We also support volunteers in gaining recognised qualifications where appropriate, such as safeguarding, helping you build knowledge and experience that can benefit both your volunteering and future career.
Whether you’re looking to develop professionally or simply learn something new, volunteering with us is a great opportunity to continue growing.
What You’ll Gain
Volunteering is an extremely rewarding experience that benefits both the club and the volunteers themselves.
Many of our volunteers tell us they have:
Gained confidence
Developed leadership skills
Improved their communication and teamwork skills
Made lifelong friendships
Learned new practical skills
Strengthened their CV and personal statements
Gained experience for future employment
Become more connected to their local community
Above all, they enjoy knowing they’ve helped make a positive difference in a young person’s life.
