DBC Club for Young People Open Day 2026

On Saturday 4th July, we opened our doors and welcomed our families, members, volunteers and the wider community to our annual DBC Club for Young People Open Day.

Our open day was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything our club is about: bringing people together, creating opportunities for young people, and showcasing the amazing talents and creativity of our members. From games and activities to live entertainment, food and fundraising, it was a brilliant day filled

with fun, laughter and community spirit.

This year’s open day raised over £2200 for DBC Club for Young People.

Giving Young People the Chance to Become Entrepreneurs

One of the highlights of this year’s open day was our Members Market, where our young members had the opportunity to create, prepare and run their very own stalls.

The market gave our members the chance to experience what it is like to run a small business. They planned what they wanted to sell, prepared their products and took responsibility for managing their own stalls throughout the day.

Our young entrepreneurs sold a variety of items, including handmade creations, second-hand items and other products they had chosen themselves.

Through this experience, they developed valuable real-world skills, including:

• Planning and preparing products.

• Setting prices and understanding costs.

• Handling payments

• Managing a float

• Speaking with customers

• Promoting and selling their products

• Understanding profit and loss

• Taking responsibility

• Working independently

The Members Market was a fantastic way for our young people to showcase their creativity, confidence and entrepreneurial skills, while learning lessons that will benefit them in the future.

Fun for the Whole Community

Alongside our Members Market, our amazing volunteers helped create a fun-filled day for everyone who attended.

There were a variety of games, stalls and activities for families and visitors to enjoy, with plenty of opportunities to get involved and win prizes.

Our fundraising activities included raffles, where attendees had the chance to win some fantastic prizes while helping to support the future of the club.

A huge thank you goes to all of our volunteers who gave their time to organise activities, run stalls and help make the day such a success.

Music, Food and Celebrations

The Open Day had something for everyone, with live music providing entertainment throughout the day and creating a fantastic atmosphere for our community to enjoy.

Visitors were also able to enjoy a selection of food and refreshments, giving everyone the chance to relax, catch up with friends and spend time together.

The day also included a special celebration for our football teams, with our football presentation recognising the hard work, commitment and achievements of our players throughout the season.

It was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate their dedication and the teamwork they have shown.

Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Us

Our open day would not have been possible without the support of our members, families, volunteers and everyone who came along to support us.

Events like this highlight what makes DBC Club for Young People so special, a community where young people are encouraged to try new things, develop skills, build confidence and create memories with others.

We are incredibly proud of everything our young members achieved through the Members Market and grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
